Guardian Sleep offers advanced NIV solutions, including the Astral™ 150, to enhance breathing support, reduce hospitalizations, and improve quality of life.
Non-Invasive Ventilation (NIV) therapy provides respiratory support without the need for invasive procedures, helping patients with chronic respiratory conditions breathe more easily. This therapy is commonly used for individuals with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), neuromuscular disorders, restrictive thoracic conditions, and severe sleep apnea.
- NIV delivers pressurized air or oxygen through a mask or nasal prongs, helping keep airways open and reducing the effort needed to breathe. Unlike invasive ventilation, it does not require a tube inserted into the windpipe.
NIV is designed for patients with:
- Chronic respiratory failure (e.g., COPD, obesity hypoventilation syndrome)
- Severe neuromuscular disorders (e.g., ALS, muscular dystrophy)
- Restrictive thoracic disorders (e.g., severe scoliosis, post-polio syndrome)
- Helps reduce hospital visits related to respiratory distress
- Improves oxygen levels and breathing efficiency
- Increases daytime energy levels and quality of sleep
- Supports a more active lifestyle
